  1. Did you know there’s a big argument whether there are a couple of planets out by Pluto or whether they should be classified as type of rock, like Pluto.
Think I need to plan a trip to Brazos Bend park which has planetarium and telescope they let you look through….if it ever stops raining….
    Cool video

    • I hadn’t heard about that, but if Pluto can’t be a planet anymore, then neither can anything else out there. Of course, in my book, Pluto will always be a planet.

I’ve never had access to a really great telescope, or even a mediocre one. But I’d happily settle for an evening up on Trail Ridge Road admiring the Milky Way with no telescope at all.

  2. Realizing that Andromeda is only one of an unknowable, nearly infinite number of galaxies exceeds the limits of this humans comprehension. Add to that the knowledge that the distance between those pixels representing stars is greater than the lifespans of several generations of interstellar travelers. The overall size of it all boggles the mind.

    • Beyond my comprehension too. I’ve always struggled with the idea that it’s infinite. Expanding. Curved (how does that work?). How can anything be infinite? If it’s already infinite, then how can it expand further? If it’s not infinite, then what lies beyond? Blows my mind … what little of it I have left.
