  1. When I was growing up, our cats always loved hanging out in my dad’s boat, and a few of the mama cats had their kittens there. Most of the time, they’d clear out before Daddy took the boat out, but at least a couple of times, he ended up with an extra fishing buddy. Considering that most of the time the drive to the lake or river was over an hour and the boat wasn’t covered, that took a lot of bravery on the part of the kittens. 😀 Ah, memories …

    • I was dumbfounded to see these kittens leave dry land and swim that far in the hope of getting picked up. Evidently they’d been around people enough to understand that people mean food and shelter. With the exception, however, of whoever abandoned them … if that’s what happened. I’d have given these little guys a home in a second if I’d been on that boat.

    • Same here. Most cats I’ve known abhor swimming. That these two did swim, and swam a long way, just to get to some people, blows my mind. Even watching the video, I don’t quite believe what I’m seeing.
